
Thomas Carl Hardy is a writer of historical fiction. His work often involves fantastical elements, real or imagined.
He has written stories set in several time periods, but his knowledge base is greatest in Iron Age/Medieval Europe. He has spent many years doing both scholarly and practical research, including time at the University of Iceland and at the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde, Denmark.
His most significant literary influences are Hilary Mantel, Italo Calvino, Robert Aickman, and Cormac McCarthy.
Thomas grew up in Kansas and now lives in Oregon. He studied English and Creative Writing at the University of Kansas, graduating in 2009.
